Participate in Black History Month

February is Black History Month!

Kick off the month at Solar Saturday, the Black History Month Kick-Off Block Party at the Carver Museum. February 7 from 12-6 pm. Enjoy music, dance, exhibits, vendors and arts and crafts for free!

Black History Month Kid’s Day at the Carver Museum: Feb. 28. Come back to the Carver Museum for a fun-filled day educating kids about the history of Black culture. The Black History Month theme for 2026 is A Century of Black History Commemorations. Explore the remarkable achievements of Black Americans over the last 100 years through hands-on experiences and creative play.

Take a walk and learn about influential black figures on the Black History Month StoryWalk in Lakeway. For the whole month of February, you can find displays honoring 28 individuals who made significant contributions to society at the trails by Lakeway City Hall.

Watch the Super Bowl

February means it’s time for the Super Bowl! If you want to watch (or you just want to hang out and eat while other people watch), there are fun watch parties happening around town.

Puppy Bowl Live at Yard Bar/Camp Out: Feb. 7

If football’s not your thing (or your team didn’t make it), you may prefer cute pups instead! The fun starts with puppy races, vendors, adoptable dogs, a Kids Zone and more at Austin Humane Society (11 am – 2 pm) and the after-party will take place at Yard Bar.

Super Bowl Watch Party at Meanwhile

Meanwhile Brewing will be showing the Big Game on the big screen and small screens, so grab a seat wherever you like and let the kids play on the playground.

Mendez Rec Center Valentine’s Dance

This fun Valentines night on February 12 is for youth ages 5-12 to get down & boogie! DJ, dinner, balloon drop & door prizes. $3 admission per participant.

Dittmar Rec Center Valentine’s Dance

This free Valentine’s Dance is happening February 13 at Dittmar Rec Center for kids ages 5-12. Show off your dance moves, enjoy snacks, and win prizes.

Daddy Daughter Dance: Snow Ball

The Snow Ball, on February 20 in Pflugerville, will celebrate girls and their dads (or any male role model). The winter wonderland will feature dancing, crafts, food, drinks and a photo booth for lasting memories. Open to girls ages 3 to 12 and their dads or male role models.
