Hi there! You may have noticed that my Instagram account, @austinwithkids, isn’t available right now. Here’s what happened if you’re curious:
Why is austinwithkids not on Instagram?
I started a new account to share more deals and affiliate links to people who were interested. That account (dealingwithkids_) got flagged by Meta’s “technology” and taken down for violating community guidelines meant to protect children. It’s an obvious mistake by their AI — it included things like soccer mom essentials and Halloween mugs (and no images of humans at all).
Because Meta links your accounts, it suspended ALL of my Meta accounts, including austinwithkids and my personal Facebook. I was able to submit one appeal through the app, and now there is no other way to contact them and no status updates or timeline.
I cannot find any way around this, and I’m just in a waiting game. I have no idea if I’ll ever get these accounts back. If you have tips for contacting Meta, please give them to me! I can’t log into any accounts, so it’s hard to get anywhere with them.
Can you make a new account?
I did try to start a new IG account to keep posting in the meantime, but it has been suspended too (and unsuspended and suspended again). They don’t want you to be able to get around a suspension, and then it also got flagged for impersonating an account (eye roll). For now, I’m not going to bother with it. Maybe in the future, I’ll try again.

This frustrating experience makes me want to lean more into channels I own. So it’s super helpful to me if you check out my blog, subscribe to my email and tell your friends what’s going on with my account (if they followed me). I’m feeling a bit lost at sea without the community I’ve built over the last 4 years!
And if you want to try reaching out to Instagram or Facebook on my behalf to ask them to review my account appeal, I certainly won’t stop you. I’m a little bit desperate and a lot frustrated!
