Where does Austin FC play?

Austin’s soccer team, Austin FC, plays its home games at Q2 Stadium near Pickle Research Center and the Domain, east of Mopac and 183.

The address is 10414 McKalla Pl.

When is the Austin FC season?

Regular season games are played between February and November. MLS postseason games are played in November and December.

Where do I park for Austin FC home games?

If you decide to bring your car to the stadium, you can buy official parking through Seat Geek, though it can be expensive. The closest lots are the North and SW lots, and if you’re splurging on the best/easiest experience, those are the way to go.

There are also plenty of day-of options if you just want to find a random lot nearby and pay whatever price they’re charging. If you go early enough, you can also find street parking nearby.

If you’re prepared to take a longer walk, lots of people like to park at the Domain garages and just hike over. I wouldn’t recommend this with kids, but for adults, it’s doable.

Can I take the train to Q2 Stadium for Austin FC games?

The train is a great option for game day. The McKalla station is RIGHT by the stadium, on the east side, closer than most parking.

If you’re on the north side of town (or don’t mind driving to the north side of town), there are Park and Rides at Howard, Lakeline and Leander. On the south or east side, you can find parking near the downtown station or Plaza Saltillo and take it from there.

Where should I sit at the Austin FC game?

Of course, where you sit comes down to budget and personal preference for what kind of view you want. But if you’re attending an afternoon game, note that the east side of the stadium (the side with sections 128-136) will be directly in the sun, at least in the first half. You will need a hat, sunglasses and sunblock.

If you get “seats” in the supporter section, just know that it is standing only (and it does get wild in the lower, more central seats, sections 102-104).

We’ve been in the Lexus Club and the East Club, and it’s very nice to have an air-conditioned place with short bathroom lines to be able to retreat to. Plus (big plus), the food and drinks are included so you don’t have to spend money on food. If you’re looking for a splurge or special occasion spot, a club is a fun experience.

Of the 2, Lexus Club is more expensive so it provides a better experience. The space is bigger with more (included) food and drink options, it’s on the shaded side of the stadium, and you don’t have to leave the club section to get to your seats (every time you leave and enter the club, you have to scan your tickets, so you don’t have to scan out to get to your seats in Lexus Club, like you do in East Club).

What can I bring to an Austin FC game at Q2?

Bring an empty water bottle! This was the one tip I got most. You can bring in your own water bottle and fill at the stadium. From their website: “Each guest is allowed to bring in one empty drink vessel, 30-ounces or less. Drink vessels can be refilled at the YETI hydration stations located in the Southeast and Northwest corners of the stadium, as well as other water fountains throughout the venue.”

You should definitely pay attention to Q2’s bag policy though. The stadium does not allow bags (even clear bags) that are larger than approximately 8″x5″x1″ (roughly the size of your hand, they say). I have brought a small belt bag.

There are exceptions however for medical bags, diaper bags if you’re bringing kids and cultural bags.
