One of our favorite things to do on the weekends is to go out to a brewery, let the kids run around and just hang out with friends.
There are so many kid-friendly breweries in the greater Austin area that have playgrounds so we can always find a fun place for everyone when the weather is nice! Some of our best days have been spent relaxing at breweries on beautiful days.
Many of these kid-friendly beer spots also serve non-alcoholic options and food, so you can make a whole day of it. (Drink responsibly and plan a safe ride home, of course!)
Here are lots of Austin area breweries to find playgrounds (tons in Dripping Springs!). Find the closest one to you with this map, which also has restaurants with playgrounds!

Central Austin Breweries
1. Lazarus Brewing
4803 Airport Blvd
Austin TX 78751
You can grab a beer, coffee or taco at the Airport Blvd location of Lazarus Brewing, and they have the coolest teal pirate ship playscape and funky ride-on animals. This is a fun little spot to meet friends all day long, and not too far from Central Austin.

2. Austin Beerworks
3001 Industrial Ter.
Austin, Tx 78758
A lot of the breweries with playgrounds are outside of the city or out toward the airport, but Austin Beerworks is a reliable, fun place in North Austin. It doesn’t have a traditional playground for kids, but it has a small play area with turf-covered hills and tunnels, as well as chalk and hula hoops.
3. The Good Lot
2500 W New Hope Dr.
Cedar Park, TX 78613
The Good Lot has a big grassy area with lots of shade trees where kids love to run around and some great wooden climbing structures. Even the big one is easy enough for little kids to climb — my then-2-year-old could get to the top. It’s definitely looks scarier to parents than kids.
They don’t brew their own beer at The Good Lot, but they have lots of local beer on tap. And they have a great food truck setup.
4. Whitestone Brewing
401 E Whitestone Blvd Suite A-108
Cedar Park, TX 78613
Whitestone Brewing in Cedar Park moved from its original location to the old Lucy’s Fried Chicken spot, along with 600 Degrees Pizza. There’s a little shaded playscape on the patio.
5. Rockabilly Brewing
Rockabilly has been getting off the ground piece by piece, but they’ve always been kid-friendly. Before getting their current playscape, they would rent bounce houses every weekend for the kids to play on! They do have a playground now — and are having a pirate ship playground built to replace it with soon.

6. Meanwhile Brewing Co.
3901 Promontory Point Dr.
Austin, Texas 78744
This is our favorite family-friendly brewery. We discovered this place on our way home from McKinney Falls State Park and it was love at first sight.
There’s plenty of room inside and outside, a turf area, and lots of shade over an awesome natural-style treehouse, slide, balance beam and a jungle gym. The food trucks are delicious, there’s beer, cocktails and coffee options, and we just like the vibes. The only downside is that parking fills up, so you may have to park on the street and walk a bit.
7. Fast Friends Beer Co.
7313 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd
Austin, TX
It’s so nice to have more breweries with playgrounds in Austin city limits! This spot is located on the 35 service road, and has a cool playscape with slide and tunnel. They also have plans for more play features and shade coming soon.
8. Nomadic Outpost
3505 Country White Ln
Austin, TX 78749
This South Austin location of Nomadic Beerworks is such a lovely spot. There are shade trees, cornhole, a slackline ninja course and playscape. Grab food at the food trucks or at Slab BBQ.
9. St. Elmo South
440 E St Elmo Rd G-2
Austin, TX 78745
The original St Elmo has a patio space with two food trucks and a piece of a former Fortlandia fort tucked in one corner for a play area!

10. Austin Beerworks Sprinkle Valley
Austin Beerworks is really trying to do something big with their newest location out in northeast Austin! There’s an awesome playground by Chris Levack and lots of open space (the treehouse playground itself is shaded, but the shade for the seating is limited). And when it’s too hot, there’s a family room inside with plenty of tables, toys and TVs.
Grownups can have play dates here too, because the disc golf course is legit (you do have to sign a waiver and pay an entry fee — $5 last I checked).
11. Oddwood Brewing
3108 Manor Rd.
Austin, TX 78723
When you want to stay in the middle of Austin but go to a brewery with a kids area, head to Oddwood. There’s a mostly fenced play area for kids in the back with turf and a playhouse, and a room with free arcade games inside!
12. Batch
I LOVE Batch. It’s craft beer and kolaches, which you wouldn’t think would work as a business, but it does. The backyard has great shade trees and turf hills with mushroom stools for kids to run around. To be honest, I often come and get a coffee or canned drink earlier in the day. It’s such a sweet little spot!
13. St. Elmo Springdale
8110 Springdale Rd
Austin, TX 78724
The new St. Elmo location in East Austin has a lot of outdoor space and the rainbow stacked boxes fort, Bloom Boxes, from 2023-24 Fortlandia.
Austin Breweries on the West Side
14. Fitzhugh Brewing
15435 Fitzhugh Road
Dripping Springs, TX 78620
This is one of the cutest playscapes out there. It’s white wood to match the main building, and it’s a good size for both little and big kids. I love the setup of this kid-friendly brewery with lots of tables all around the table, so you can always find a spot to sit and sip and supervise your kids.
15. Frontyard Brewing/5 Soul Wine Co.
4514 Bob Wire Road
Spicewood, TX 78669
No playscape, per se, but these two drinkeries share a spacious outdoor area with a great hill country view. There are long firepits, pickle ball courts, and cornhole. There’s also a big space with a seesaw, toys, blocks, a hill that sometimes has a moveable slide and a couple disc golf holes.
16. Jester King
13187 Fitzhugh Rd.
Austin, TX 78736
Jester King has evolved a ton in the past 10 years. It was family-friendly before because it had plenty of space for kids to just run around, but now it has even more space to run and some kid-centric areas.
It has a playground that opened in late 2021 and a herd of goats the kids can visit (you pay to enter the goat pen or you can see them and pet them from outside the fence).
17. Vista Brewing
13551 FM 150 W
Driftwood, TX 78619
This is a cute brewery out in Driftwood that we visited on our way home from Wimberley. There are plenty of tables closer to the buildings, but you have to walk just a bit to find the playground.
It’s a little treehouse with a couple slides. Kids of all size can run around in it or under it.
18. 12 Fox Beer Co.
4700 W Fitzhugh Rd.
Dripping Springs, TX 78620
This playground is not for little kids, but big kids can have a lot of fun on it. It doesn’t seem to be professionally built, so the ladders are really hard to get up (I had a hard time with it even!) and the rope bridge is kind of steep.
There are some little play things on the ground for toddlers and preschoolers though. A little slide and some tires to climb on and room to run around.
19. Ghost Note Brewing
23663 Ranch Road 12 @ Ghost Note Lane
Dripping Springs, TX 78620
If you like the playgrounds at Meanwhile and Jester King, check out Ghost Note Brewing. The same person made all three playgrounds. It has a treehouse with slide, balance beams and a rope net for climbing.
It’s just a little bit farther out in Dripping Springs than the row of breweries on Fitzhugh, but it has lots of open space and such a relaxed vibe.
20. Suds Monkey Brewing Co.
Slide, swing, balance and play in a pretend Jeep at Suds Monkey out west! This spot doesn’t get talked about enough, but it’s got lots of trees and outdoor space and a fun playscape.
21. Shady Llama
18325 Ranch Road 12
Wimberley, TX 78676
I wouldn’t exactly consider Wimberley part of the Austin area, but this is a fun spot if you’re out west (and to be fair, it’s on the edge of Wimberley and Dripping Springs!). There’s a lot of shade, food trucks, llamas(!) and two separate play areas — one playhouse with wood paths to walk around and one farther down with slides and climbing that’s better for older kids.
They don’t brew their own beer, but they have lots of different options on tap. And the view can’t be beat.
It’s hot and sunny out there! If you want to make sure you can grab a drink with some shade, consider these great spots.
