Where to Buy Christmas Trees Around Austin

Do you get a real tree every year? Growing up, we always had the same fake tree, but now we go for the real deal! It’s a special tradition to go pick it out each year, and we don’t have to store it all year long!

If you’re looking for the best (or easiest! Whatever you need!) spots to get real Christmas trees in Austin, I’ve rounded them all up for you.

Christmas Tree Lots in Austin

Optimist Club of Austin

The Optimist Club has been hosting this tree-sales fundraiser for decades, with the profits going toward youth charities in Austin. They’ve noted that the price is noticeably higher this year because of increase shipping costs (related to fire and drought in the area where they get their trees).

Colorful Christmas Trees

You don’t have to go traditional just because you’re getting a real tree! Colorful Christmas Trees lets you choose what color you want to flock your tree. There are 12 colors available — or you can leave it natural.

It’s a tree lot, but they have some fun activities to make it a more memorable outing. Daily Santa visits from 5-8 pm and free hot cocoa. In the past, they’ve had bounce houses, but not sure if they have them for the 2024 season.

Holiday and Harvest

Multiple locations: Barton Creek Square Mall, Round Rock Premium Outlets, Dripping Springs and Bee Cave

This tree lot benefits Austin Sunshine Camps, which serve more than 500 kids each year. There’s also ornament decorating, photo ops and occasional Santa visits.

Montana Fresh Christmas Trees

This lot features Montana-grown Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Grand Fir, Noble Fir, and Nordman Fir trees. They also have wreaths and greenery.

Brungot Farms

Find your perfect Christmas tree at this fresh tree lot at the Twin Lakes YMCA. They have lots of sizes, from 3 feet up to 12 feet.

Whole Foods

If you’re looking for an easy and relatively inexpensive option for a real tree, we’ve had good luck at Whole Foods. They often have a bundled deal for a normal size tree, a tabletop tree and sometimes a wreath. If you’re looking for a standard 6- to 8-foot-tall tree and don’t need the highest quality, Whole Foods is an easy stop.

Christmas Tree Farms Near Austin

Elgin Christmas Tree Farm

If you want a fun farm experience for Christmas, Elgin Christmas Tree Farm will become your family’s favorite tradition. You can get a tree Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, or on weekdays for the first two weeks of December. You can cut your own or choose from pre-cut Christmas trees (that were grown elsewhere).

There are also fun activities — some free like the crazy maze and hay mountain, and some paid like the inflatables and train ride.

Evergreen Farms

Ride a wagon out into the field and choose your perfect Christmas tree to cut down and take home. The kids can play on the playground, walk on the nature trail and see the farm animals.

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm

Not available in 2024, but the trees should be ready for 2025!
